The project "Improving the efficiency of antenna indoor far-field testing" started

With the continuous development of wireless communication technology, mobile communication base station antennas are also developing in the direction of multiple frequency bands, multiple ports, and multiple beams. As each base station antenna integrates multiple communication frequency bands and has a large number of ports, it takes a long time to complete the test of one antenna. Therefore, the need to shorten the test time and improve the test efficiency is increasingly urgent. In view of the specific conditions of the current test site, our company  Research has formulated a project plan for "improving the efficiency of indoor far-field testing" and has begun to implement it gradually:

1. Solve the problem of lodging the scanning frame to adjust the downward inclination angle .                  

In order to adjust the electric downward tilt angle, the scanning frame has to fall down and rise again during the measurement process, and each adjustment takes about 90 seconds. Through the transformation, the scanning frame does not need to fall in the middle of the test, and it can be adjusted directly under the scanning frame. Testing an antenna can reduce at least two lodging times, which can save a lot of time; at the same time, it reduces the frequent lodging operation of the equipment and prolongs the service life of the equipment. This measure has been completed and used, and the effect is remarkable!

2. Adopt broadband transmitting antenna to realize simultaneous transmission and reception of multiple frequency points
This measure is expected to shorten the test time by 40%! The system is currently being debugged, and broadband transmitting antennas need to be added, which is expected to be completed by the end of August.

3. Using highspeed electronic switches to achieve simultaneous testing of multiple frequency points and multiple ports
This measure requires the replacement of part of the hardware and the upgrading of operating software, and the renovation plan is being jointly studied with equipment manufacturers. It is expected to be completed by the end of September.
